We designed this box hockey game to be light and portable. Other box hockey games are heavy or you need to re-assemble it each time you play. Our game folds in half and clamp together to be portable and it has a nice comfortable handle attached.
This game is perfect to take to the park, picnics, family gatherings, kids birthday parties and much more.
To achieve the light weight and strength we use a very high quality expensive 3/4″ birch ply. We CNC the parts to be perfect, hand sand them and paint with 4 coats of lacquer to get a nice smooth finish. You can’t get this kind of finish or weight with 2×4’s or conventional plywood.
The hinges are 3.5″ heavy duty door hinges, able to withstand the abuse of playing along with transporting the game.
The base or playing surface of the game is made with an 1/8″ ABS with a permanent vinyl latex printed surface. The material is strong to play on but keeps the overall game light weight.
