Fueled by their unwavering passion for conquering the slopes of Big Bear Mountain, they delved into the art of crafting snowboards. Conquering the Mountain, One Board at a Time
Driven by their dedication to delivering superior performance, the Monson Brothers spent countless hours in their garage, honing their skills and perfecting their craft. With a keen eye for the limitations of rental boards, they set up a tent outside the local rental shop, offering riders the chance to experience their revolutionary creations. This audacious move led to sold-out weekends, as riders flocked to try their boards and left with newfound admiration.
Turning Point: Thriving Snowboard Success
In a twist of fate, a call from Tower Records marked a turning point for AGC. Tasked with creating custom snowboards for a magazine contest, the brothers seized the opportunity to showcase their talent. Inspired by this experience, they took a bold step forward, establishing a full-service snowboard factory and launching their website. The world took notice as corporations and marketing agencies began clamoring for their distinctive snowboards, propelling AGC into the realm of thriving business.
A Choice & A New Horizon
As AGC’s reputation soared and orders multiplied, the eldest brother, Richard, faced a pivotal decision between his career and his beloved hobby. In 2000, he bid farewell to the company, leaving the reins in the capable hands of Ryan, who embraced the challenge and carried the legacy forward.
Diversifying for Long-Term Success
Summer posed a challenge for the company, prompting AGC to seek new avenues for growth. The innovative spirit that defined them led to the expansion of their production capabilities, encompassing composite skateboards and an array of unique items.
